What is dawnset?
dawnset is a child activity tracking app that helps parents and childcare providers collaboratively log and monitor daily activities like feeding, diaper changes, sleep, and medicine for children.
Is dawnset free?
Yes, dawnset is completely free to use for both parents and daycare providers.
How do I share access to my child with another parent or caregiver?
Go to your child's profile, tap the Access tab, and send an invitation via email. The other person will receive a link to accept the invitation and gain access to your child's activities.
What is a guest account?
Guest accounts provide temporary access for people like grandparents or babysitters. Parents can invite guests with a time-limited access period. Guests log in with a simple one-time code sent to their email—no password needed.
Can I share photos on the app?
Photo sharing is not currently supported, but it is being considered for a future update.
Can I pay my daycare through the app?
Payment processing is not currently available in dawnset. This is a feature we may explore in the future.
Why can't I delete an activity?
Only the person who created an activity can delete it. If someone else logged the activity, you won't see a delete option. This protects shared records from accidental deletion.
Why can't I create an incident report?
Incident reports can only be created by daycare owners. This ensures that formal incident documentation comes from the childcare provider responsible for the child at the time.
What happens if I remove my access to a child?
Removing your own access means you will no longer be able to view or log activities for that child. Any activities you previously created will remain visible to others who still have access. You would need a new invitation to regain access.
How do I delete my account?
Go to My Account in the app and select "Delete Account." Your request will be reviewed and processed. You can withdraw the request before it's processed if you change your mind.
How long does it take for my account to be deleted?
Account deletion requests are typically processed within a few business days. You'll continue to have access to your account until the deletion is finalized.
Can daycares see everything I record for my child?
No. When logging an activity, you can mark it as private. Private activities are completely hidden from daycare providers—they won't even know the activity exists. This lets you track things like medicine or personal notes without sharing them with the daycare.
What can guest accounts see?
Guests can view non-private activities for children they've been granted access to, and they can log new activities. They cannot see activities that other users marked as private (though they can see their own). Guest access is time-limited and expires automatically.
How can I change my account type?
Account type (parent or daycare owner) is set during registration and cannot be changed directly in the app. Upgrading from a parent account to a daycare owner account is usually possible—submit a request through our Support page and we'll help you out. Changing from daycare owner to parent is unlikely due to legal and data privacy considerations, but feel free to reach out and we'll do our best. Guest accounts can be upgraded to full accounts from within the app.
How can I support dawnset?
We really appreciate your interest in supporting dawnset! Right now we don't have a way to accept financial contributions, but we plan to add this in the future. In the meantime, spreading the word to other parents and caregivers is the best way to help.
